Serious Black - 13 years of melodic Power Metal with the licence to create anthems. Since the foundation of the band in 2014, they have enthused their fans not only with six studio albums but also with live appearances around the globe. On January 29th, 2027, »Keeper Of The Light« will be released via RPM / PERCEPTION, promoted by a tour throughout Europe with Rhapsody Of Fire and support bands. To shorten the wait, Serious Black will release several singles and video clips, starting with ‘Last Man Standing’ in the middle of July. This uptempo song unites all of the band's quality standards: a rolling chorus, strong guitar riffs, and a dynamic foundation of drums and bass – earworm guaranteed.



Not only ‘Last Man Standing’ – every one of the eleven songs on the album shows that Serious Black has stylistically returned to its roots. At the same time, »Keeper Of The Light« sounds more eclectic than ever before due to the modern production of Mario Lochert and Bob Katsionis – raw, full of melody and emotion. The interim focus on progressive elements has changed completely in favour of catchier arrangements. In 2027, straight, classic power metal – the style the band once became known for – reigns again. „The return to what once characterized us was already indicated on »Vengeance Is Mine« and »Rise Of Akhenaton«,“ Lochert explains the natural evolution of the band and adds: „Since joining five years ago, our singer Nikola Mijic has turned out to be a real jewel for us. Because of his expressive voice and his intuitive feeling for great melodies, the songs have gained more clarity and a more direct presence.“



Among others, Lochert talks about ‘Final Ride’, a song that spreads hope and impresses with a very catchy chorus: never give in, write your own story, raise your voice and let it be heard! With ‘Party In The Sun’ (which is absolutely sing-along-worthy and might become the new Wacken anthem), as well as ‘Light Up The Sky’ (the chorus might remind you a bit of Helloween), the musicians document their musical development. Another tradition in the history of Serious Black is writing a sentimental ballad: ‘Little Bird Fly’ – in the style of Bon Jovi – promises goosebumps. The powerful title track ‘Keeper Of The Light’ won’t let you go. And last but not least, ‘Lords Of Metal’, a march and a salute to Manowar, will make every metal heart pound faster.
